I was trying over several months, to polish a Glock pistol slide, and I was never satisfied with the results.

A couple evenings ago, I had a wild thought, and thought why not?

It turned out almost miraculously.

Notice the convex edges? This is wonderful, and gun folks call this dehorning a pistol, by removing sharp edges.

Could not be more pleased with the results.

Sure, this is not a pocket knife, but it was sharpened with a pocket knife sharpener.

This one project, I feel, more than justifies the tall price of the Ken Onion system.

Because it did the grinding and polishing slowly, all the temper is still in the steel, and no weakness of the slide resulted.

Sweet! Can't believe you didn't get ant comments on this

Figured it was a gun post, in a knife forum, so I did not think it would get many comments. What is knife related, is this was done with knife sharpeners. One deep cut on both sides, was done with a wet jet, and the rest, making convex curves, was done with WorkSharp.

This has turned into my favorite gun.

The worksharp is a hand held grinder after all. I used mine to remove the ramp off a Bravo 1 and to round off the handle scales on another knife.

Nice work on the glock. Just make sure you never use the wrong belt :D

Trying to get up the nerve to start fresh on another Glock. Start a time clock and see how long it takes to do all the work on the WorkSharp.

I had a dozen or so hours on it, never quite happy with the results, till I redid it with WS and now like it.

Looks pretty good.

Did that to my buddies Para 1911 but after the fact found out it was a poor decision. It was a competition gun and he found out quickly that a polished slide is very slippery when trying to rack the slide back. Looked sweet though.
