I saw a picture of the Benchmade/NRA 12410 knife months ago & loved the design. the blade shape & grind, the sculpted micarta handles with grooves - looked great - IN THE PICTURE.

I recieved on in the mail & Benchmade had sealed the box, so the vendor could not inspect the knife, before selling it.

The knife does not have the handle grooves, and the there is quite a bit of blade play. I contacted the vendor & as the picture provided by Benchmade/NRA was not right, as well as the blade play, he agreed to take it back, but I decided to get a Spyderco Centofante 4 instead. he agreed to this & even though I have a ton of spydercos & was looking for something a little different, I know I made a better choice.

I do not blame the vendor, as he could not inspect it, I blame Benchmade/NRA for not correcting the picture & for bad QC.

That is a dissapointment. I handeled one just yesterday and my local knife dealer and it was perfect and the lines were very apealing. It is a shame you didnt get what you expected.

I got the same knife but I only paid $22+shipping for it. I did notice that it was not the same knife in the picture, I think they used the larger Steigerwalt's photo. There were no grooves and the micarta looked a bit rough compared to the photo. Lock up was good with only trace (acceptable) amounts of blade play. But I felt it was a great bargain for $22 so I am very pleased with it. I did notice that many online places charged almost twice as much which is why I jumped on the $22 offer.
