There's a ton of Spyderco pic threads and the like but I can't find any that focus on patinas sooooo post your patina pics here!

Can Spydercos get a patina?

I'm only half serious with this reply. But really, I had two 93' Enduras I used, broke, never cleaned and stuck them in a garage drawer for 17 years. Not one spot of patina or rust. Of course, they weren't gleaming with the light of heaven, but no discernible patina.

All depends on what steel you have. I know m4 and the cruwear will take a pretty good patina. I don't think the vg10 will like in your '93 endura.

M4 in the Gayle Bradley just sorta gets an overall light stain. Nothing like Case CV or 1095. Twenty-year old Endura Gin 1 just has scratches and scrapes and a worn down blade--no patina.

I bought a used Franken Manix 2 with an M4 blade and it already had some patina on it:

The very first Spyderco I ever got was a Super Blue Caly 3. It was sold to me from a friend overseas who used it for a few weeks and didn't care for it much, so I convinced him I would show it some love. I'm still in the process of learning how to properly care for it and sharpen it (think I'll send it in for a proper service before buying a sharpmaker and trying to keep it sharp), but I keep it up with some mineral oil every week or so. I use it for food to keep the patina going, but I try not to "force" it too much. It's a little darker in person than these pics suggest:

Despite its reputation for being a rust-prone steel, I've found that CPM-M4 patinas very slowly. I had the patinas forced on my Military and GB using an etchant, and the one on the Air is developing very slowly naturally, even after cutting up literally about 100+ apples and citrus over the past couple of years at least.

Beautiful blades in here!
I want a Caly 3.5 in SB! My Caly 3 SB hasn't shown much patina yet (do not use on food), but the G10 scales have show more blue transfer around the edges from my denim jeans than anything, lol! Kind of surprised me.
...do want a Mule also.

Here's my user Stretch SB with some of that beautiful laminate patina.

I've got a Delica SB also that I'll have to snap some pics of and post later since I don't have it with me today...
