I appreciate Cold Steel getting rid of the old coating and stepping up to dlc, but my ideal Lawman would have stonewash finish. And while we are talking about making it my ideal version add some jimping.

Hey Cold Steel... how about a sprint run?![]()
This is exactly what I want. Not everyone is a cop, SEAL, or ninja and some prefer plain COLD STEEL. Pun intended.
So ironic that they chose CTS-XHP, a very stainless steel and decide to only offer many models in DLC coating. Could have just gone with M4 or D2 if you're just gonna coat it anyway![]()
Nothing at all wring with liking the dlc. Some of us prefer stonewashed or satin. It would be nice if Cold Steel could offer some choices.I like DLC. Im not a ninja, a cop or a seal. just a pencil pusher in the office.
wtf is wrong with a coated blade? i think people should not be labeled for liking a particular color/finish over the other.
I'm always right because i'm an asian(=genius) right? #stereotypes

Probably good at math too hehe
I like the way they do coated knives. They're one of the few companies smart enough to blackout their hardware and all surfaces on their coated knives. While the premise of it being tactical is silly at least they commit to it. There's nothing worse than a coated blade and shiny hardware and liners.
I do wish they would use a TiNi or Boron Carbide coating instead of the paint-like stuff, though.
Most of CS's black painted knives has been replaced by DLC coating in the 2015 model with premium steel and has much higher end look. Look up for Tony Marfione's(from Microtech) custom knife with DLC finish, similar to CS's DLC polished look, not the matte finished one you usually see from Spyderco/ZT. DLC coating is the most scratch resistance of all the coating commonly seen in the market(including TiNi, parkerizing & etc) due to its hardness and the way it's bonded to the metal surface.
