I really think I want one of these, but I am unable to see one in person, as there are no dealers close by me. I just want to know how if feels in the hand and in the pocket, and if anyone carries it tip down, does the clip get in the way of the axis lock? Any info would be great.

Thanks,
Phil

Hi Phil,

In the pocket it is definitely long, but it is not a thick knife, so it carries surprisingly easily. I carry it clipped to my right front jeans pocket and don't even notice it there.

In the hand--for me--it's great once it's opened and I have a firm grip on it. I have medium sized hands and find it's not that easy to quickly position my thumb so it's over the hole, swing the blade open, then reposition my hand so it's locked onto the handle. This has always bothered me about it. I've never heard this from anyone else, so it's probably something about how this knife works for me (I should probably practice opening it a hundred times a day until it's always smooth). Once I have a grip on the knife, however, it's fantastic.

I carry it tip up, so I don't have any info on tip down carry. :)

With tip-down carry, there is just a BIT of interaction with the clip--but not enough to cause any problems, IMHO. I think the knife was designed for tip-up carry and that seems the most natural for me--especially since I was used to the original AFCK (liner lock).

I also agree with Johnny. Although this is a large knife--it carries very comfortably--in the pocket-clipped position and even IWB.

Good luck.:)
