I want a Damascus blade...

Correct me if Im wrong but CRK will fit a damascus blade to a previously owned Large Sebenza 21 if sent in correct?

My Mediterranean is my only "Safe queen" and I'd really like to take it to the next level.

If this is possible, any idea of cost and lead times?
 
Correct, afaik. Not sure of the price exactly, but I believe it's around the 200.00-ish mark. Lead time is up to one year.

If I'm wrong about any of this, maybe more knowledgeable voices might chime in.:)

Your Mediterranean will look fantastic with a Damascus upgrade.:thumbup:
 
I ordered a Damascus blade. Wait time was just over a year before they called saying the blade is ready and for me to send in the knife. Knife went in last week.....now waiting for it to come back.
 
Oh that makes it alot easier to bear, I ordered my Mediterranean as soon as I heard they were being offered and waited close to a year for delivery. Id prefer to keep it home until blade is ready as well :)
 
To my knowlege they will not install damascus blades to CGG models. I asked the same question some time ago and received this reply from CRK.
 
I had a basket weave blade installed on my small glorious... Wait time was over a year (worth it)

Hello Stefan,

I hope all is well. I apologize for the confusion, we do not offer Damascus blades for our CGG models. The CGG "Glorious" and any of the other CGG models come standard with an S35VN polished blade. Any of the Unique Graphics can come with a Damascus blade or can have an extra Damascus blade made for them. Raindrop and Ladder are $285.00 and Basket Weave is $315.00. Damascus blades are on back order about 12 months. Once the blade was finished, you would have to send your knife into our shop to have it fitted. There would be a $15.00 return shipping fee for domestic US shipping.

So I believe the only way is to ask CRK again. Maybe they have changed their policy on this subject.
 
I think asking CRK would be best. They now have an online order form for knives. I just tried it out of curiosity, and for the new CGG choices they do not give you an option to choose damascus (specifically I tried with We the People and Cross Hatch). For other styles (specifically I tried wood inlays), they do offer the option to choose damascus on the order form.

Maybe it is a case-by-case basis depending on the specific CGG?
 
I sent off an email to CRK this morning but figured I'd ask here to see if anyone came up with any fun combos. Hopefully we can work something out as I'd really like a ladder damascus blade on this knife.
 
Mr Longstreet is correct...don't mean to bust your bubble but they won't do a damascus blade for the CGG. You would have to take a damascus blade off another knife and hope everything fits up right
 
Change the title of the thread to "I'm getting a Damascus blade!"

Called up CRK and its ordered for my large Mediterranean. The girl on the phone had to ask but the blade has been ordered. Give or take, 12 months. I'm already in their system (like most of us) so they'll call me when it arrives :)

Whos next!?

Good deal! Always best to go straight to the source....especially CRK. They're always great!

I emailed them this morning and got the "away from office" response from Anne, figured Im in no rush, especially with a 12 month wait ahead of me, but I'm glad I called.

Now to decide if I want to create a matching Small Mediterranean...

What pattern will you be getting?
 
Paying when knife is ready, went with ladder damascus :-)
