I'm looking for a new small folder. I have a Boker Subcom which I like a lot, but I'd like something to rotate it with. I want it to be:

1.) around 8 cm (3.2 inches) closed. Smaller than a Delica, but bigger than a Ladybug.

2.) pocket clip.

3.) a good locking mechanism, which kind doesn't matter, as long as it's well made.

4.) one hand opening.

5.) 100% left hand friendly, meaning pocket clip mountable for left pocket carry + no locking liners in the way of the thumb hole/stud, making it harder to open the knife with the left hand.

6.) a good, solid cutter. Nice, secure grip and a short sturdy blade, razor sharp out of the box, preferably fully flat ground. I don't mind a serrated blade (if well made), but it doesn't have to be.

7.) I haven't quite decided my price limit yet. It's gonna be either under $50 or under $100, so I'd like suggestions ranging from around $20 to around $100.

Hope that's not too many criteria to keep in mind. I appreciate all ideas.

Thanks in advance.

Kershaw Half Ton. That looks like a very good little blade. And how wrong can you go for $10?

I don't know if its the right size, but a SOG Flash II sounds about right.

The Kershaw Baby Boa is nice and very affordable. I like the Spyderco Cricket, too. It is a bit like a cooler, better-built version of the Subcom.

I have been keeping my eyes on the G-10 Dragonfly :-). It's a little pricey, but definitely under consideration. The FRN Dragonfly is also nice, but it only has a right handed pocket clip. It would be really cool to have a fully left handed option for less than $50..

Keep up the theme with a WharCom or SubClaw? I love mine. They're carried frequently, have the 'Claw now.

The Dragonfly isn't that bad on price. They haven't arrived yet, but I ordered a couple for $70 each. Seems reasonable to me especially since it isn't Chinese.

How about the Kershaw Leek. It's my personal favorite Kershaw. It's avalible in several different price points/configurations. I think they've got one in D2 witha frame-lock for around $50.

5.) 100% left hand friendly, meaning pocket clip mountable for left pocket carry + no locking liners in the way of the thumb hole/stud, making it harder to open the knife with the left hand.

After READING what you are looking for I suggest a Buck 110.:D

How about Blade Tech's Mouse? Got one a while back and was pretty happy with it for the money I paid for it. Available in black, orange, purple or green, you name it.

Benchmade Benchmite has a version with a pocket clip (Harley Davidson tho). Not sure how lefty friendly it is with the levitator lock.

CRKT Stubby Razel?

Bladetech Mouselite?

So, my main prospects so far are Dragonfly G-10, Bladetech Ratel or Mouse, Spyderco Lava and Spyderco Chicago/Cat. The Chicago suffers a little bit from the annoying locking liner syndrome. The opening hole is a little bit covered on the right side, which is a little annoying (I am picky :)). It shouldn't be a big problem though and it's a sweet knife. Cat and Lava are also awesome, but maybe a little big for what I'm after. I could be a little lenient there though. I like a short, stubby, blade which is a little funny looking, so that people almost don't recognize it as a knife when I pull it out. A cricket would have fit that description perfectly, but, like I said, it's a right handed knife.
