I really want to even have a chat with Mr Bagwell but i've found it hard to find any info on him. Especially on how to get hold of one of his knives.

Does anybody know anything, it would be appreciated more than you could imagine,

Utter thanks,
Phil aka Pootsy

Bill Bagwell's contact number is 903-938-0905. Definitely alive & well and making knives He may even get out and about to a few shows in the near future. Keep you posted if and when he does. Doing some of the best work of his life at present.

would anyone have his address because i'm from Northern ireland and for me to ring him would cost us both quite a bit of money, plus I like letters better:D:D, I'm a traditionalists at heart.

It Ain't New York City!!! Haa! Yep. Texas. Where all good Knife Makers should be from. Mike Lovett. Deep in the Heart of Texas!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Is this the same Bagwell who creates the Bowies and wrote that always-opinionated and always-interesting knife column in Soldier of Fortune in the late 80's? If so, whoa. Glad he is still kicking, in his case it might well be literally!

i just got an ontario fortress bowie from a fellow forumite, it is one wicked looking blade,i could imagine how cool his customs might be........

Same Bill Bagwell. You can get "Bowies, Big Knives, and the Best of Battle Blades" from www.paladinpress.com - a reprise of the Battle Blades column from SOF, plus an additional four chapters of Bill's thoughts and training Special Forces. Modern Knives #5, "the American Bowie Knife", in addition to training segments by James Keating, Dwight McLemore and Pete Kautz, has a visit to Bill Bagwell's shop and shows him forging a Bowie. Available from www.modernknives.com. Definitely still going strong!!
