I've caught the SAK flu lately and I have decided I want a EDC with

1.Phillips Screw Driver
2.Pen
3.Bottle Opener (Can Open not necessary but prefer)
4.LED
5.Small/Large Blade (I have my mini-grip D2 or Dozier as EDC)
6.Saw (I know this won't happen, but I have to ask)
7.Something relatively small

This is my priority for my EDC and I found the midnight manager to fit the bill. But I want to know how the LED peforms. Would it be half as bright as my 3v maglite (because I have seen some pretty amazing LED lights before, cheap too).

Also, what's the difference between the Midnight Manager I and II? Is it just the scales (I has translucent and II is solid red)?

I have one and it's not as bright as a maglite. I like mine's a lot, but you need to know it's pretty small. It's designed to be small and a keychain addition, so it's not a full sized SAK.

It's a great knife but the LED is not meant to replace a real torch. Rather it's a handy light source in emergencies, such as putting your key in a lock at night or picking your way to the cupboard that houses your Maglite or Surefire. Viewed in this light (ha!) you won't be disappointed.

I got a Midnight MiniChamp a while back, and found it very chunky, with several tools I never used. I recently replaced it with a Midnight Manager, and it's one handy little tool, "all killah no fillah". You'll dig it. :)

As for the LED light, like the others have said, it's for close-range work only. But for just finding a keyhole, or peering into the back of a dark drawer or behind a desk, or illuminating what you're writing on with the built-in pen, it's fine.
