My eyes are on the BK11 and the BK13. Would I benefit from the BK13's cheaper price and smaller size? Or the BK11's higher price and larger size?

Suggestions?

only you know what size will work best for you. as far as price is concerned, that is based on what you feel comfortable spending.

i think we'll need more info to better help guide your decision:

1. what is the maximum price you're willing to spend?
2. how will you be carrying this knife? do you prefer a specific kind of sheath?
3. do you prefer stainless, or is carbon steel ok?

Either metal is fine, and I'd like a sheath that I can get to stay put and not move around, probably sew some nylon string through my pants so that I can achieve that. I don't want to spend more than $50.

do you have a weight or blade length restriction?

the becker bk13 or bk14 sound like they would work for you.

a few other knives to look at are:
boker fitz
boker pocket bowie
bucklite max small
a.g. russell bird and trout

I don't want it to bulge too much, and no more than 3", but I could make an exception if the knife is a deal maker.

I think that, out of the Becker series, that the BK-14 would do better for you than the 11. Better ergos. Just my opinion though. I'd be happy to carry either. :)

The handle on the Eskabar is far more comfortable for me in extended use, but you do give up that sweet bottle opener...

Also, the 13 isn't larger--it's the small one...?

I'd pick the 11 if you want the bottle opener, and the 14 if not.

Get the esee izula! Great, sharp blade in functionality and looks

And not much more expensive than the EsKabar either. Great warranty. I EDC mine.

The izula looks great! I'll check it out!

hm... if I get the izula it would have to wait a little longer to get that extra 20....

The Izula will work out cheaper as you will have to replace the Becker glass filled nylon sheath unless you do not mind dull knife. Let me say that the BK14 is a great knife but you gotta spend a little more on a replacement sheath and it will be one fine knife.

what's the difference in the sheaths?

I definitely like that no questions asked warranty.

Alright, I'm sold on the Izula.

I love my BK-11 and BK-14, but man, I really love my Izulas. Plus you can get them in just about any color you can think of.

Glad I could help :) and i must say the sheath is super tight on the Izula due to the fact you can fasten it to your back pack strap upside down and that thing will never come loose on its own

Ah that is very nice news. Definitely getting the Izula now. I'm completely sold. I love that warranty.

Where could I get myself some paracord?
