I want a US-made LB7

As the title states, I'd really like to get an American made Schrade LB7. Recently I've had a renewed interest in lockbacks and I want to get at least one example from as many American maunfacturers as possible. What would be a fair expectation to pay for one? I've never bought anything on eBay and don't really wish to get it there. I'm hoping I will find one at the local flea market and would be willing to pay about $40. Is that unreasonably low or about right? I'm not expecting NIB condition, just one in decent shape.

You see US LB7's on ebay in that price range. I have paid $18 to $50, depending on condition, sheath, etc. A like new LB7 with sheath, papers and box will sell upwards of $60 or more, IMO. But you can get a nice LB7 in the range you are talking about, no prob.

There is an antique store in my town and there is a bay (or was not too long ago) and the guy deals in knives only. He had a couple of LB7s then, new in box (grey and black box) with papers for less than 50.

I am sure that you can find them on the bay too. Good users (no box/papers and in need of a good honing) can be found regularly. And if you are just looking at one from Schrade for your collection, don't rule out the 6OT and 7OTs. These are similar lockbacks in the Old Timer line.

Damn, I came so close today at the flea market. A guy had an old LB7 but the blade was shortened. He wanted $10 but I passed

I just stopped by my local Ace and they still have some american made Schrades in the case. Well actually only if you opened the case behind the red velvet or whatever it is.

There are two LB7's. One has a case, box, papers etc, the other one does not. They still are showing up as about $50.00 :( . The guy I was talking with was like "I would go over to the mall you can get knives cheaper there." Lol...:)

There's also a 15ot there as well with box and papers but I didn't check for the price on it.

I've been to my local Ace and they just have Case knives and some crappy chinese imports. I wish they had some old Schrades laying around.

That was a fair price. Easy purchase to sell three and get your own knife for close nothing, maybe even turn a small gain. I can't understand why someone lists like that when the buyer pays for shipping.

Sadly if I had won I probably would have ended up keeping all 4 myself. I have hoarding tendencies.

I just picked up a "used" LB7 about 2 weeks ago for $18 including shipping. They listed it as used because of some very fine scratches on the blade. Other than that the knife and sheath were perfect. Keep looking, you'll snag one soon enough.

Lightning does strike twice. I saw another listing for 4 NIB vintage made in the USA LB7s and this time I jumped on it!! I finally got my LB7 but X 4!! These are the seller's pics but they are the exact knives I received. She must have a bunch of these somewhere in Texas!
