I am looking for an outdoorsman's watch. Price range of $100, give or take. Leather strap that is replaceable. chrono plus maybe a fe extras. Analog style, good illumination.

What should I be looking at?

Take a look at the Casio Edifice watches. I am very pleased with mine even if I never used the chrono feature. 100m water resistant. Seems like a real sturdy watch. But it does have a plastic band. But it is very comfortable to wear. Mine ran about $100 on sale at JC Penny.

Steve,

Not a Rolex but they are notorious for keeping accurate time.
Paid $27.95 shipped for this one, Indiglo, WR 60meters, like it so much I ordered 2 similar.
A lighter dial(olive green) model and another Expedition model for a Christmas
gift stocking stuffer.
All 3 were around $30 each and I see from an email I just received that they have
arrived at my PO.

Of course I can't live with the watch strap:) so will be ordering a new one in croc,
alligator or ostrich, easily double the price of the watch and calling it done.

Just an option to consider.

Casio EFA-133D-8AV, 100 M water resistance, $80, features and specifications here http://www.casio-intl.com/asia-mea/en/wat/watch_detail/EFA-133D-8AV/

Unusual for Casio, it has standard 22mm lugs. You could replace the bracelet (which is wearable) with a waterproof leather strap and still be in budget.

Typical Casio lume

is mostly on the hands and does not last all night. For backup it has an amber bulb which illuminates the dial but not the LEDs.

Photos are my EFA-131D-1A2V, same module with reverse LEDs and not recommended.

I've been realy happy with this Timex. Its a bit under your target budget and when I think of an outdoors watch one of the various Expedition watches is what comes to mind.
