I Want a ZT

But not just any ZT! I am looking at the 150 Boot Knife, but there is precious little info on it from reliable sources. I won't spend that much money on just any knife but I have liked the look of this knife for a very, very long time. I still need so convincing though.

So if any of you great people have an opinion you would like to share, please do!

Edit: I do want to know if the plastic belt/boot clip can be removed from the sheath.

Although I do not own one, I can tell you they are being discontinued this year. Just a heads up!

Thanks for both heads up but I already knew about Dave. I also saw the thread with the disco'd notice. These two together are working on me.

I guess my sticking point is that I am just cheap. I have never paid this much for a knife. Let alone a knife that I REALLY, REALLY hope I never have to use for it's designed purpose.

If I can sway your mind, try looking up the Benchmade SOCP, its cheaper and lightweight with the dagger intended for penetration. Sturdier sheath and very well built. I love it more because of its ability to handle a firearm while holding the dagger.

If you still want the ZT go ahead it is an amazing knife, but if you do make sure you get a better sheath. You don't want your sheath failing on you when you need your knife most.

I am going to keep this post as Prac Tac free as possible.

The SOCP knife does look nice. However, I don't know how to use it. If I was taking the SOCP program I would definitely pick it up.

I intend to use this knife like a Fairbairn-Sykes Fighting Knife. See here. Less ice pick stabbing, more thrusting and slashing.

I hope this doesn't offend you. But I do thank you for the suggestion!

Damn son you want to go all out haha. No offense taken, I would suggest buying another sheath though. The ZT sheath looks cheap.

I haven't handled the boot knife, but of the three other ZT fixed blades I've tried, their sheaths are anything but cheap.

I handled the knife at SMKW and the only complaint I had with the sheath is that the non-locking retainer tab could get in the way of the blade. There were a few cut marks on the display sheath's tab.

I picked up a ZT 0150 a short while ago and it's an impressive little knife. Very pointy. And it feels good in your hand. I don't think the sheath is that bad, it's made out of thick kydex and the knife will definitely not fall out of the sheath. The clip will not fit a wider belt though, and if I would carry this I would probably secure it with some paracord. The clip cannot be removed without breaking it.

In my personal opinion, the SOCP is terrible. I'd go so far as to say it's barely a step up from worthless, at least in it's stock form. Mine.. well, it ain't no SOCP any more :p

If you wait it will be gone. Ive waited before and Ive regretted it. You will not look back and say "I wish I still had that $100." You will look back and say "Dang I wish I would have bought that knife!" You will spend the same amount of money on toilet paper, carrot sticks and shampoo this month. So do something cool with the money and buy a ZT!

If you take any more time to pull the trigger the ZT is going to shot first!:D

Did the deed first thing this morning. And not a moment too soon! Last (and maybe only) Dave has.

Yeah I learned my lesson about waiting when something comes along and missing it ... then BobSig came to the rescue lol. Thanks Bob
