When are they supposed to be available? I emailed a gentleman at Benchmade and he said that their balisongs were being shipped to dealers now, but I can't find one. Please help, I really want one.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Bear in mind that demand for the BM42 has exceeded expectations by over ten fold. This is one of the biggest backlogs that BM has ever experienced.

When you receive yours will depend on where your dealer is in Benchmade's queue and then where you are in your dealer's queue.

So, don't start biting your nails or you may end up with no fingers.

Don't listen to him everyone. You need these, and you need them now! As a matter of fact, go order another one while you still can. Better yet, make it two or three more!!!

Prove to Benchmade that the re-introduction of the Balisong into their line-up was the best decision they ever made. And believe me, when you get yours, you'll totaly agree with that.

Well, Im not alone anyway...I cant wait for mine either! The only thing that keeps me going is that my name is at the top of the list from my dealer. I saw the Benchmade site the first day they posted the info and the very next day at the gun show I put my name on the list...I knew about them before my dealer! Now I just hope he is anywhere near the top on Benchmade's list as I am on his!

I placed an order for 3 BM42 last February 17, 2000.

Thanks to Chuck Golnick for pointing me, in private email and I wasn't a forum member yet, to Knifemart because I was like a crazy rabbit lookin where to find my carrot.

I ordered mine from north west cutlery, when i called and asked them they said that they were near the top on benchmades order list. I called up benchmade and they said that they hod only sent out 50 so far, to the press and magazines and stuff, and that the factory was turning out about 50 per week.
Or so i heard...
