I want my resiprene

OK I'll admit the new Swamp Rat line looks way cool with the micarta. But I love the way my Howler feels with the res handle. I like it more than my Meaner Street with micarta. I have tendonitis so getting a grip on micarta requires a tighter grip (and more pain) than with res.

I see the Scrap Yard is going to have res. Will there be any SR101 with resiprene?????

Just cause I'm a giver, I'll trade you my Bandicoot for your MrS. Just so you won't suffer from that nasty micarta any more.

The micarta fits me fine. Sorry it doen't have the feel you want. To each his own for sure.

Good luck

I am with HappyHunter - the res handel is perfect for me and the micarta while a step up is not my preference.

To each their own - but ya gotta like the price point difference! :D

HappyHunter, I am with you all the way on the Res-C issue. Micarta looks nice, but Res-C feels good, grips great and cushons wonderfully.

As for SR-101 with Res-C, I would never say never but my understanding is that there are currently no plans for it. All the Res-C will be on the Scrap Yard line and they are going to be using S7 steel. Of course, if some SR-101 makes it to the scrap pile then who knows?

I swing both ways (I'm talkin' about handles here!:D ). Both work well, but I like my Swamp Rats with RES-C and my Busses with Nukarta. RES-C does have the edge when it comes to wet work and Nukarta takes a beating without looking like it. I'll take both.;)

The RES-C is nice handle material. Anybody ever have problems with it not staying attached or anything?

That's been the problem with some soft handle materials by other manufacturers because they're not riveted on.(Maybe this is a question for a separate thread)

BTW, I like it. I just bought a SW Bandicoot from another forum member. A real ergonomic (to my hands) knife handle.

'They' should make some that is stacked in 1/4in alternately... Res, Mic, Res, Mic, Res, Mic, etc... :)

I just hope the night crew will get so drunk they will confuse the steels and start making Scraps with Sr101 (or INFI) and leave S7 for Jerrry Busse.  :D :) ;) :)

THAT just might get someone fired! I mean if anyone is getting drunk around there it WILL BE JERRY!! :D

For what it's worth... I'd put money on it, that the powers-to-be at SRKW's will produce some limited runs down the road in the form of an extravaganza or something... They will either be sold as a "woops" or they will be one-off customs...

I have never heard of anything like that happening on a Swamp Rat blade. Doesn't mean it hasn't happened, but I have not heard about it if it has.

By the way, another nice feature of Res-C is that if it gets cut, you can heal it with a heat gun or a small flame. No joke. The cut seals right up and stays put. Pretty cool in my opinion.

"I want my...
I want my...
I want my Res-e-C!! "

"Thats the way ya do it - got your Scrapies for nothing - and your chicks for free"

Ohhhh Yaaa Baby!!! :D :D :D

I'm also a big fan of Res-C , especially for hard-use wilderness knives.

A couple more major benefits of Res-C over micarta is that it insulates from the cold and absorbs shock, especially important when using knives for high-impact work such as chopping.

I buy knives for what they can do, not how they look.

Thanks, Rich.

Interesting additional info on ability to heal cuts.

wonder if you can have them change the handles out for a modest fee? I too would prefer res c. Didnt stop me from ordering the M6 though. :d

Didn't Eric say recently that he has only had two Resiprence C knives that have had that sort of problem...
