Next, he got his home defense 12 gauge (pistol grip) and the narrator eluded to a big magnum (.300 I think) and the young fellow picked up a gun from the corner which looked like a Marlin .22 rimfire to me when he worked the action.
The father of this young genius decided he needed to clear an acre of land for some pasture. He got a big cat and proceeded to get after a very large stump. He tried pushing the stump over, rather than diggin' it out. Of course he couldn't push it over, so he decided to blow it up. He came up with some black powder, a funnel, some fuse, and a plan. The first attempt was a dud- no bang. Then the cavalry showed up- and old timer who everybody seemed to respect. His attempt failed too. No bang. So they really packed it in this time.
But, alas I turned the station to Wheel of Fortune and never did see if they shot any deer or blew up the stump.
Maybe you did?
Merry Christmas,
Milt
