I have a BUCK Paklite Large Skinner. I love how stout it is, how thick it is, and how it holds an edge pretty good.
It feels like I could drag it behind a semi for 300 miles and have it still work good.
I got the knife cheap, because It had no sheath. :grumpy:
They gave me a Gerber sheath though. (I dont care. about 8 bucks was discounted)
I took the Gerber sheath apart, so I could have the hard plastic inner, and wrapped it in electrical tape to hold it together.
I added a string placed in the right spot to hold the knife in.
There are no holes in the sheath, and obviously no belt loop after what has been done. (the previous sheath had one, but the sheath was too big, and fabric that felt like it was falling apart on it's own. I've carried it a bit in my pocket, but it keeps tipping over and sitting sideways.
How would you carry it?

Personally, I'd give Eli (Godspeed) a call and having him make me a sheath with a belt loop or teklok attachment.

Go to the Buck site, looks like the sheaths cost about $7 retail. You should be able to find them on eBay even cheaper. Why go around with a duck tape sheath when new ones are that cheap?

Leaning to bend kydex isn't terribly complicated technologically.

It might be a fun "thing" to get into...and a marketable skill! Make a little coin on the side...

Enlarge the hole, pass 12-20" of paracord through it & tie ends together. Pass paracord loop under belt or through belt loop and loop back over sheath so it is now "tied-off" to your belt/loop. Carry by tucking sheath into inside waistband with just handle exposed. Adjust length of loop to desired length for security and your comfort..

You can wear this in any position inside your waistband and the looped paracord will keep the knife/sheath from falling into pants and becoming lost.

If it fits in your pocket then you need either a larger sheath or something attached to that sheath to hold it in position in your pocket. You could test this by taping a large piece of cardboard to the side of that sheath and trim it until it fits in your pocket. For instance I wear fairly tight jeans and something the size of an average wallet will fit tightly in my front pocket. Start with something approximately that size and fine tune the edges to fit. Take a pair of your pants and look inside at the shape of the pocket and you will see what shape you need to end up with.

For outside carry on your belt or waistband you would need to have a good sheath made.

I used to make welfare sheaths by supergluing a crappy sheath inside another crappy sheath. I used to find used leather IWB clip-on holsters in the bargain bins for a couple of bucks and -- after trimming off the excess leather -- would used superglue gel to put a partial Sharpfinger sheath inside. Then I would have a clip-on IWB sheath for my Sharpfinger without that annoying retention strap, and I could put it on or off my belt in about a second.

I was thinking about drilling a hole in the tip of the sheath, (seeing how the knife is smaller than the sheath) and wearing it around my neck.........

I highly recommend kydex. Its super easy to form, cheap, thin, light, and insanely durable. You can form it for cant, ride depth and tension. You can get it in any color you want. Just my .02 though.

Should be OK. Not sure how the customers at my work would like it when I serve them their deep-fried goods with that though. :D

I'm sure they'll be fine with it once you use your knife from your mouth to slice their orders into bite size portions. :D
