but i'm having trouble finding a excuse to get one. i don't camp and i don't have any tough cutting chores to do. anyone think they could help me think of an excuse to buy one?

Get an RC3, use it, enjoy it & own it for life!
I have an RC3 and find it one of the most used knives I own. The RC wrnty. can not be beat.

Great knife at a great price from a great company!

Need more?? Mine is my in car blade...very sharp and the glass breaker pommel!

Get the orange handle an make some of us jealous!

Outstanding quality, made in the USA. Get one. Everyone should have at least one knife they don't use. Or at least not hard.

You need it just in case you go camping, or just in case you need to do some hard cutting. Just like I need insurance just in case I crash my car.

So you’d better not wait ya never know when that time is going to come.:D

It would make an awesome kitchen knife!! It doesn't get much more useable than that!

you know this actually makes sense. it looks like i'll have to pick one up. i guess i'll keep it in the car just incase i'm driving around and see something that needs to be cut

Good choice. You'll love it! Plus if you run outta Mach 3 blades you can always shave with it! :)

The RAT 3 is a nice all-around tough knife. I think the RC blades are a tad nicer, but they won;t really do anything the RAT3 won;t do. It's a toss up.

I have a RAT 3, BUT! I made the mistake of getting it in D2. Unless you're very good at sharpening and are setup with diamonds and the skill to make them work, then stick with the 1095 carbon blade.

I have the Rat-5 and love it! I'm considering a rat 3 too, and I hope my question will provide insight for the op. I have noticed the rc-3 is 1/8" in width and the rat-3 is 3/16" width. I see people saying the rc-3 is stronger because of the heat treatment Rat cutlery does. However, OKC's rat 3 is thicker than RAT's rc-3. Can a thinner rc-3(1/8") be stronger than a thicker rat 3(3/16") if both are of 1095 carbon steel?
