I really love the Spyderco Bug logo. It's really cool, unique and well-known. I've seen big silver bugs on the Vesuvius and the forum edition Military and it looks great!
So, I ask you Sal, why don't we see it more often? It looks awesome!

Hey, I got one of those silver and black spyderco bug pins and wore it as a tie tack to work the last couple of days. I had a few people ask me about it especially working in a bank right now. One person thought it was a scarab until I told her it was just the logo of Spyderco. She then told me that her son is in to collecting pocket knives like victornox. I politely gave her the spyderco website and bladeforums website and encouraged her to have her son check it out. It suprised me that she and her husband support their son in collecting knives at a young age. But I figured that something I heard a while back was the best support for a hobby you love is to encourage others knowledge and growth in the endeavor. I also told here that a gun and knife shop I visited has some spydercos. But that he prefers to carry benchmade because he is in this all american steel ideal over japanese steel. I was polite in how I handled the matter and found another knife enthuasist(sp) who led me to find out about a knife show in Lakeland, Florida called the Gator Knife Show. He knows a lot of the bladesmiths in our area and has a collections of high dollar knives. I mentioned this too the woman and she was suprised to hear that I too knew the individual and that her and her husband were good friends with the guy. Anyhow, I guess this goes to show that people can make good connections with small conversational pieces. I wonder what she would have thought if I pulled out the 'boot knife' I carry inside my footwear which happens to vary from a native to a dodo or any number of other edc knives I have to toot. By the way, I strongly agree that we need to see that little logo around more on the knives wether on the handle or blade. Now just to push for a variety of t-shirts or caps. ;)

I would love to see some more models with the inlay.

No doubt you'll see bug inlays in future Spyderco models. Next up will be the Centofante III coming later this year. It has the Palladium silver inlayed bug like the Vesuvius did.

Nice inlay work yourself there Spyderwa!

Joyce @ Spyderco

Thanks Joyce. Sometimes the best advertising for Spyderco are the little bugs that somtimes escape out of Colorado. People always ask questions, and the rest is a five-minute commercial for Spyderco. This particular bug is one of the prettier Spyderco pins that I have seen. I just wish there were more out there for Forumites. I think they might even consider helping with costs/postage.

I've had a few folks ask me about the "bug" pin (that Joyce sent to me) that I wear at work, and it's a great way to spread the word about quality Spyderco products...(But then, I AM known as "the knife-guy" here at work.:D.).
