Havent been riding the past few years but I found my vest and thought HEY! I've technically been a HOG since 1992! Holy Crap!

Going to take the scoot apart eventually and give it the old school chopper treatment, anyone have an extra jockey shift out there?

you know you need to make a shifter out of a piece of infi! How cool would an Ash1 shifter be?

Mmmm, foot clutch:D

Are you going to install an N down drum?

The more I think about it the scarier it sounds! A Bandito buddy of mine put his newly built scoot through the wall, his first self built chop. Now he runs Crazy Horse Cycles in Lubbock. I have never met anyone so friggin intimidating in my life, and since.

I've been outta the loop too long, I think I know what your talking about but .......... :o:o

ooh! INFI shift handle! An E handle would be sweet!

I rode a standard shift pattern once and it seems like it could be a little hairy finding N in a situation. I loved the way the foot clutch and tank shift worked that my buddy had set up.
The Baker drum puts Neutral on the bottom, 1 up, and so on...

Nice vest, and nice knives leatherhog!

I hear ya, havent been riding mine either. She gives me a dirty look every time I walk through the garage.

79 FLH shovelhead, I miss her.

anybody else?

(sorry, changed camera battery, darn date stamp,
dont think ASH1's were out in 2004:mad:)

Very Cool LeatherHog! I no longer belong to that HOG, but I did for many years. I hung with a different crew out here in the West, but never did any colors. Lone Wolf, I miss those days.
Anyhow, if you need some help with parts, let me know. I still have a few contacts.

That vest is way too clean

I bought it in '91, but I am a leather worker, and I tend to over care for my gear, put two and two together. But, my jacket looks like its been drug behind the truck for a hundred miles. Not dirty, but well worn. The vest didnt get as much wear and tear, I babied that expensive patch. :grumpy:

Ah! I like that idea! I love the look, but unfortunately my scoot is just past when they reversed the break and shifter, putting the clutch and break on the same side brings the term "suicide shift" to a whole new meaning.

MMMmmmmm.....Lubbock. I smell...victory?
When I heard my almamater beat the horns I literally jumped! :D

oooh, 79 FLH, nice! I almost had an 80 back in Lubbock, things just wouldnt work out. :( I have a 78 XL 1000 sitting in the garage waiting on me to get time and money.

Thanks for the offer mymindisamob, I'm sure I'll be hunting high and low for parts, I like bargain hunting.

How do you mean? No front brake?

Hopefully front brake, but the forks I originally wanted dont seem to have that option, might have to go a bit modern with the springer.

Early XL's had the rear brake on the left side and the shift on the right. If I went jockey on my later model I'd have a foot brake and foot clutch on the same side. Sounds like an accident waiting to happen. :o And my rear brake is a mechanical drum, panic stops are a real interesting experience, wonder if I can convert it to hydraulic disk?

Because of my short stature, I couldn't find a Harley that fit me. I rode a hard-tail Kawasaki, and the HOGS let me ride with them. I guess coz Chuck road a 1340CC 1988 FLHS (85th Anniversary edition). Sure do miss the days of the wind in my hair and bugs in my teeth! I was however a member of a ladies group called Leather & Lace. Man, those were the days!
