My bank statement has this on it:
*08/19/2010 13314 POS PRE-AUTH ONE STOP KNIFE SHOP LOUISVILLE KY ONE STOP KNIFE S 50.00
*08/19/2010 13812 POS PRE-AUTH ONE STOP KNIFE SHOP LOUISVILLE KY ONE STOP KNIFE S 50.00

Two identical charges, and it made my account overdraw costing me $5...
Anyway, the knifemaker subscription only costs $50 for one year, right? So why the two $50 charges?
How could I go about getting the second $50 charge back?

You probably submitted the form twice. That's a POS => Point Of Sale, PRE-AUTH => Basically a pre-authorization. I believe it's essentially a hold placed on funds.

"You probably submitted the form twice."

Could be, hopefully I can still get a refund on the second charge, though.

IIRC, spark will only charge your card once and the other charge should be dropped automatically by your bank.

Did you use the automated system? If so, did you put the wrong billing address in there?

Actually, you're the very one I was thinking of PM'ing on this, glad to see you are here.

Well, I just used the "upgrade your forums experience," link, and went from there. In all honesty, I not much one for re-submitting any credit card info on any site, I've been an online businessman for over a decade, so anyway, I really don't know how it happened, but I was charged twice in a row for the one year maker fee, my bank statement still says the same thing, so if you guys would be so good as to put $50 back in my account, or send a paypal payment to me for that amount, to my email that would be great. Thank you - Jimmy

I'm not seeing two charges. I'm seeing 1 charge and one attempt which was a failure because you put in the wrong billing address when you entered your CC information.

So it looks like what you see is an authorization hold put on your account by your bank. We don't have the money. Your bank will release the hold in probably 24-48 hours.

Oh, yeah, trying to remember back hard, I do remember seeing right as I clicked, the billing address was blank, I remember having to go back and retype everything just b/c I didn't click the "same as shipping address" check box.

Still, strange that it overdrew my bank account, by $50 when I had $100 in it, and gave me a $5 overdraw charge.
Might have to call them to get it straightened out, thanks.
