for a while.
Thought I would give my Large Regular a face lift. Aluminum Oxide blast the slabs. I also made a spacer/glassbreaker (thanks to PieterM for great ones he posted here earlier, mine don't look as good).
The work looked pretty good, but when I put it all together, the blade was not smooth. Take it apart, make sure bushing&washers are right, try again. Still, a heavy drag?? Repeated this a few more times, still a no go. Oh what to do? What have I done?
I slept on it for a few nights and came up with the idea, (GRIT)! I remember while shoving the blade/washers into the slabs, it was gritty and not smooth.
Took apart and polished the INSIDE contact area where the washers touch the Ti slabs. Also, the bushing may have a piece of grit between it and the blade hole(a little tight). I cleaned and lubed this area.
Put it together and SUPER!, it is smooth as before.
Here is a shot of the filler(440C).
