I was wrong

I admit it. I was wrong about Spyderco. For a long time I was kind of a hater. Mainly because most of them are lockbacks. And the whole blade shape thing. But about a month ago I decided to get one. It's the Para3 with s45vn. And I freakin love this knife! So much so, that I just ordered a PM2 crucarta. Pretty sure I'm going to love that one too. Definitely a fan now

I bet you'll love it even more! I have eight PM2s (No Para 3's though... Yes, I went through a bout of PM2 fever) and the Crucarta is absolutely one of my favorites, and one that I will surely keep. I carry that one more than any of my others, and I have some super nice ones. That one is just very classic, natural looking, great balanced steel, and it's a tool steel, but it is very resistant to staining from what I've experienced.

Spyderco has everything covered, from small to large. I also found the backlock knives to be boring at first, but I appreciate the lock the more I use it. Very trustworthy as well. The leaf-shaped knives like the Sage 5 or the Native may seem odd at first, but lend themselves to be very strong at the tip, which is one weakness of their modified clip, like on the PM2 or Para 3.

Some of my favorites that I know are keepers, of all sizes from Spyderco, worthy of taking a look at:

Small: Cricket (framelock Reverse-S, great 5th pocket fiber destroyer) Dodo (Another reverse-S fiber-vanquisher, but with very strong ball-lock and simply amazing ergos, the Cricket for the discerning gentleman, lol), Native 5 LW (Amazing backlock, solid as can be for a no-nonsense EDC knife, mine is in Rex 45 and white, so I can customize it, too), Sage 5 LW (The best compression lock I have seen from Spyderco, has that "hydraulic" feeling, very high quality and another, more fun, EDC folder.) Dragonfly Wharncliffe K390 - amazing.

Med: Shaman - A midsize knife masquerading as a big knife, feels like a fixed blade, get this if you want a Strider. PM2 - just a great slicing EDC, very fun and satisfying. Yojimbo 2. The Endura and Stretch are nice, too.

Large: Police 4, Yojumbo, Military, coming Military 2, Gayle Bradley 2

The PM2 in Cru Wear I ordered just arrived today. Only my second Spyderco. And I already love it. It came super sharp and has great fall shut action right out of the box. Can't wait to get home after work and play with it more. Gotta move the pocket clip since it came tip down. What a sweet knife! Definitely going to be my edc for quite a while!

I was never a hater, but I liked another brand because of the looks (starts with a "B"). But after reading about Spyderco knives I bought a PM2 and eventually all of the other knives are gone and my collection of knives that I carry and use are all Spyderco except for one lone holdout from another brand. The ones that I carry and use are all PM2 and Manix 2, and all in sprint or exclusive steels.

Just picked up the Manix 2 in Maxamet today. Excited to see how it performs.
I kinda got lucky. A store down the road from me carries Spyderco and a few other high end brands. Anywho, I just stopped in today to peruse the knives. And they had a shipment of Spydies come in earlier in the morning. The Manix was one of them. Had to get it right then and there. Totally stoked!

hahaha me too! The blades turned me off. Now that they have crossbar style locks I went with the Manix 2 and that is my EDC.

I had to go with the S30V Manix because I need it all black... I really wanted the magnacut or something other than S30V (I love it, just need something different)

I'm now up to three spydercos. The Para3 s45vn, the PM2 Crucarta, and the Manix2 LW Maxamet. Can't decide which is my favorite. My next Spyderco will be the Gayle Bradley 2. I'm really digging the blade shape on that one. Not to mention it's in M4.

The GB2 is fantastic. I bought one from the factory outlet a while back.
