they may be interested in why I might choose their product over that of another firm. When I am considering the purchase of another knife, whether to replace one, add to my collection, or meet a certain need, a number of factors come into play.
I must feel that the firm that made the product is one of integrity. To have that, the firm must be dedicated to making the highest quality product possible for the price. If they need to make some knives with less expensive materials or manufacturing processes to be competitive, I have no problem with that, as long as I'm told what they are. I might prefer them anyway. I do not want a product made by anyone other than skilled Americans out of American materials.
The maker must stand behind their product and provide prompt service. I don't think this is asking too much of any firm.
I want to know I am spending my hard-earned dollars with a company that is proud of their product, and does not allow one item to leave their hands without it being clearly marked as theirs and assures that each item is accompanied with full paperwork stating that the firm distributing it, for whatever purpose, chose the maker's product based on their high quality and standing in the cutlery industry. Otherwise I feel that both parties are being less than sincere.
I consider how well the design will meet my needs. Functional capability is even more important to me than quality and durability. I will gladly pay for these attributes.
Once I have gone through this process and have narrowed it down, I hope that Camillus, with its rich history and dedication to the needs of Americans, will be the one I can buy without regrets.
