I wish Discovery had come to Cumming for this show.

Dylan is probably okay, but Andy might have to bulk up some and grow much more facial hair. Got to think more Duck Dynasty. Not at all sure about the "Legend" part of the hype, but guess that's TV stuff. I'd rather carry one of Andy's, Dylan's, yours, Carl's or my own.

They did come to cumming first, supposedly the shop was "to intense" and by the time they edited out all the inappropriate language, jokes, violence, and back bayou greegree magic (3d spalting), after a week of shooting they only had 5 minutes of usable footage.

Hey, I was totaly well behaved for that whole 5 minutes of tape.

Hmm, maybe I should come shoot a video of you guys and put it on my own website...I wouldn't have to edit it...just put up a warning :)

"Legend" huh....I had to look him up. I do not by any means claim to know everybody who is a blade or anything sharp artisan. How ever it is my belief that a "Legend" is known by many if not all of those who are participants in the "Legends" specialty and sometimes not even just by those. As you say "TV hype". I find it interesting that Discovery is still running these type shows all with the same format. Everything has to be done within a week and it normallt takes 6 to 12 weeks to accomplish. "I don't know how we are going to get it done, but we will...we have to or I'm out of business" This line or a version of it will be in every episode...guaranteed. Then everyone runs a raound and explodes under the pressure except for one dump @ss that has no business being there in the first place. It all started with the Teutul's of OCC and has continued with every show of this type that Discovery does. Somehow, it sells

While the real Artisians, craftsmen, and magicians of the highlighted industry do not get the true recognition they should. Those folks though do not get into this for that. They are rewarded by the friends they make, the recognition by their peers that they earn, and the accolades of numerous satisfied customers are the rewards they are most happy with.

Pretty much my thoughts exactly. Im not encyclopedia of knife knowledge but I have been collecting for years, I'd never heard of the dude. I asked my old man, a martial arts expert and one of the most skilled outdoorsman I've ever known(and a knife collector for about 50 years), he never heard of him either. The fact that the show was done in the usual Discovery reality show format was a real shame, legend or not.

One of the things that bugged me the most about the show was the knives that were featured. The huge wrist mounted retractable claws and the giant cleaver that looks like it belongs on a swap-meet table somewhere both made me cringe. In defense of the maker, I did look up some of his work and he does seem to have some pretty good, if pricey, designs.

They should have done this show about Andy! He's one of the most gifted makers I've seen in a long time and is destined to become a true legend, he already is in my mind. If only he would hurry up and post today's batch... lol

Don't dis Todd Begg just 'cause ya'all have never heard of him. Broaden yer perspective, learn a little bit. I bet we could all name a few "legends" that most of us have never heard of. The knife making industry contains more than just what we would prefer, thank goodness!

Love the Fiddlebacks!

Man guys, let me tell you that Todd Begg is a legend in this industry. He is the trifecta, a great craftsman, a great engineer, and a great businessperson. He is one of my inspirations, and a personal role model. And also let me say that it is for a good reason. His knives are so clean and creative it is out of the world rediculous. AND, his folder mechanisms are the smoothest there are.

When I first went full time, I did the USN show in Vegas. I met Todd at the social, and he took over an hour with me. He gave me very honest critiques, tips to fix issues, business advice, and just overall shop wisdom. I'm sure he gets this all the time, and I was blown away by the time he took guiding me. I was very honored and humbled by it.
