I Wish GEC Would...

I wish GEC would make a Slim Dogleg Trapper with a long, slim, pointy wharncliffe for a secondary blade.

That might actually be my ideal carry knife.

I wish GEC would do more frames in between 3.5" and 3" in general -- a serpentine smack dab in the middle at 3.25" would be a heck of a nice start in particular. Branch out from there: pen, stockman, jack, mini-improved-muskrat, etc, etc, etc. I'm a little baffled that with all the patterns and blade variations they offer, they don't have anything for one of the most versatile frames out there (and admittedly, one of my personal favorites)

I'm sure I've read this thread somewhere before... anyway I'll play. I'll take a Norfolk please. :)

I was originally critical of GEC making the chunky framed knives. However with more time and more models coming out they have come out with some great new models and sizes and I cant say I have any complaints. I wish GEC would do ratail bolsters, that would be sooooo nice!

68 frame in a single blade barehead and a proper scout knife. I would also like to see them use their O1 on something with nice scales (bone or wood), cause they do a heck of a job with O1. I could whittle a totem pole out of an arm hair with my farm and field tool......

How bout a knife about half the going price... Same quality. joke!!!! Calm down everybody!

Hire me as official historian and writer. A small office off the shop floor somewhere, stacks of musty knife tomes and catalogs, prototypes and factory-fresh slipjoints strewn about for "research", maybe a coffeemaker. I can bring my own laptop. In a pinch you can even train me on production stations.

Also, please make a 3.5" mini trapper!

I want to see a remake of the 2011 forum knife and lets see some more 66 jacks!!!!

I second that. Desperate for a 2011 forum knife, never seem to check into the exchange quick enough. Sigh.

I would also like to see GEC take some time and study the old peachseed jigging technigues and try to emulate them. They are getting much better but still getting there.

One with a cap lifter that works great would be an ideal knife for me. I love the #85 pattern. I missed out on the 2011 forum knife, though, too.

Put Goldenrod Micarta on more models.

Love my #81 pattern in Goldenrod.

Coonskinner, I'm with you on that. I like their #74 pattern Saddle Trapper, but would prefer one on the #48 frame. So I reground the spey blade on mine in Mexican Bocote, but because of where the nick was placed, it became more of a long sheepfoot than a slender Wharncliffe. Still much more useful than the original, IMO.

Agreed. Actually, I would like a Boys Knife with a cap lifter, but beggars can't be choosers! I have a few #15s including a single blade ebony Charlow PPP (one of my all time favorite knives), but I would be willing to trade any two of them for a 2011 forum knife.
