I actually like my Izula (&2) because I don't get harassed when carrying them in Chicago. They fill a role.
Which one you got? Would you wanna trade for a 14?
Hey cbear...i got an izula 1 on the egay store...already moded it so i guess i ll pass it to my wife or kid.already have a 14 and 24 but thanx man.
I'm looking at a $400 Busse and the more I keep looking and learning - the more I realize I will immediately regret it and wish I got a Becker.
I'm new to bushcraft (starting at age 50!) - and I do believe that I will ultimately become a Beckerhead (hate that name).
I was talking about the Gurkha Kukri.Yeah, if it is no the CS Kukri machete they are built kinda soft so that they are tough. Not really the best thing for dried oak, but hey, you beat on what is available with what is available.
If you strip the coating off of them it helps reduce the friction on them as you chop, you can also add a convexed edge.
Kukri's, Machetes, Kukri-machetes, and Beckers are all kind of different categories of knives.
Just sayin.
And yes, the becker will have superior steel, heat treat, and will definately out perform the machete on the dried oak.
