  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

Gift my friends and co-workers a fitting EDC blade that I know they would never purchase for themselves. I bought a Lionsteel Opera for my wife and made custom Box Elder Burl scales for it. I gifted it to her for Christmas. She had mention about a year ago she needed a new knife since the one her brother gave her bit the dust (cheaper German auto). The Boxed elder burl gave it a feminine touch. I actually love the knife since it has a lot of my time an patience in it. (Knife can be seen in the. Lionsteel forum section under my first Lionsteel: posted as a reply) PS- she also got pearl earrings, so this was not a substitute for a gift fitting for a woman.
I also gave my dad a second Case medium stockman. He misplaced the first one I gave him for his birthday. This one was black buffalo scales. He really likes it. I did note he should try to hang in to this one a little longer.
I was very pleased to give these knives to special people who could appreciate them for their function, value and thoughtfulness.
I wish I could do it more...

be careful what you wish for. having tons of money is not always a good thing trust me.
you enjoy life more when you have just enough to get by on and have a little left to enjoy life with.

I checked the Lionsteel Forum and You did a Great Job!
It looks like Salmon Box Elder Burl.
I gifted a Fällkniven WM1 fixed knife to one of our girls, with scales in this wood.
The other girl got a WM1 in red&black Box Elder.
The block of wood was enough for two WM1's and I made one for myself.
Red handles on knives for Male's are common here ( Mora knives), so I don't bother a single bit about feminine or masculine looks on my users.

Regards
Mikael

Thanks for the comments, Mikael. Giving more was the underlying point, but cans dig the sexy salt girl with a beer or two! I thought the Lionsteel turned pretty good too. Not too bad for the local cutlery shop scrap burl and g-10.
