If you could have any kind of knife you wanted...but made to RC standards, what would you want?

For me, it would would be a 4" blade, drop, clip point, bone handles, good amount of belly.

RC4 in 1/8" 1095, no choil, larger grips. Maybe a spearpoint. But I haven't even handled the RC4 yet, I'm looking forward to it. The above is just speculation based on personal tastes.

Either way, it seems they're constantly developing new products, so it's almost certain that something will come along soon enough that you'll like!

Free knives for me...:D

I'm going to be spending a lot on RC knives this year.

I should have an RC-4 in hand by the end of the day. Big choils seem to be the thing to do these days, I'm not sure I like them on smaller blades either. I can understand why you may want to choke up on a longer blade, but a short blade starts out choked up.

A 1/4" thick, 7.5" sharpen blade area chopper with a choil and thumb control notches or jimping along the spine with a drop point. OD Green w/Canvas Micarta or G10 scales and exposed pommel area w/ lanyard hole + a great sheath w/ accesssory pouch

They pretty much make what I want with the RC4, although I wouldn't mind an RC3 with no choil.

I'd also like the new RTAK to be a 1/4" thick blade.

Well okbohn/ Derrick,
I think I would go with a 5.5 inch blade, no choil, spear point, 3/16 stock, 5" handle, with 1/4" scales, 1 1/8" blade width. I would call it the RC Bush wizard. I think they got the drop points covered, with the Tak, RC-4, RC-3, RC-6, and Sere. I would like the spear point, for a more traditional bushcrafting design. :)

My RC-4 arrived, one size does not fit all. From the choil forward I have no issues at all, excellent profile.

The jury is still out on the handle. The choil is a great place to put my index finger, but I'd prefer if it was actually part of the handle (as in covered with micarta); in general, I prefer longer handles and I've lost my appreciation of finger choils.

Keep the edge length the same, reduce the size of the choil and give that real estate to the handle and it would be better (for me).

I must be a strange one but I really like usable choil's, as in the kind that fit your index finger. I've tried and tried, and you cannot tell me that you get the same control grabbing the handle compared to when you are actually touching the blade with you fingers. I'm talking about fine control work here, but even when there is handle room to spare, I end up grabbing the blade.

Oh I almost forgot the OP.

Well I really like the orange scaled RC-3 and that pretty much nails what my wife already asked for in a knife. The only other change I'd suggest would be to make the same neck knife but in 1/8" rather than 3/16".

I love the choil--love it. I think a knife with a little more handle might be a good addition.

I love the Choil ....Excellent control in addition to the notches /jimping on the spine for thumb control as well...I love the concept & Reality of the RC4,to me it is perfect camper/hiker/ outdoorsman go to knife... It is funny I own alot of Major /more expensive blades and when I head out the door I always have a RC blade on me .I forsee and RC4 on my person and a neck knife around the neck and a RC6 strapped to my pack, in the Future an SERE (RC5) blade that will stay in my Truck !

All I want is an RC-3 made from 1/4" stock with a scandi grind and rounded butt.
And I want it with polished green micarta slabs, or polished Coral Rucarta slabs (either with the current green fiber liners)

mmmm......

Id love to see an RC companion knife. I know the neck knife is in the works, but Im thinking more more along the lines of:

A 6 1/2 to 6 3/4 total inch straight knife, rounded handle more or less, not to thick. 2 1/2 inch blade length. Full finger grooved handle with deep choil and slightly raised & textured thumb ramp. And of course that RC color and TLC thrown in.

This would be my perfect knife for detail work, bird & trout..etc. I have a little Gerber Freeman camp knife that is kiind of like that and is a nice little utlity but I would make several small modifications if given the chance. Like adding 1095 or D2, & especially RC quality and colors. And deff the more rounded, smaller handle. Not to mention Gerber knives bring out a Dread in me like no other when it comes time to sharpen them.

I'm easy, I'd just like to see the green micarta handles on the black coated blades as well.

And I'd like an orange/black option on a few. I'm thinking an orange/black SERE for the general market would be a great addition and I'd put it in my survival gear as well.
