There was no America- we were the bad guys, the evil ones. EVerything was turned on it's head and the Budhist illusion was great. Good was evil and evil was good. Men of sense and cogent words sounded sophist, sophisticated and 'aware'.

Things are not what they appear to be.

Is there anyone here overly distressed that some might question the twin towers source of destruction, or the holocaust, or Stalin's purges?

Do not be overly concerned.
Isn't this the way the world has always been?
Wasn't this here when Bill was alive?

Of course it was.

It's just another day by the Brazos from where I'm standing, and all water eventually goes to the ocean.

It is good to have an HI forum.

Agreed.................

Agreed. Ever since I found this place, it has become my favorite place on the internet. Thank you everyone.

Munk , I think we have both seen enough of the outlandishly bizarre to know that nothing is impossible . I think that is what these doomsayers rely upon . They rely upon our not being able to rationalise away the possibility . If he had said this before the event it would loan credence to his theory . As it is, it is just another sorry excuse to spread the poison that is inside himself . It is just as possible to say airline companies were in on it . A conspiracy theory could be composed from that . The theory would mean nothing . It would just be an extension of what went before it . "What ifs " becomes "must be" which then becomes reality for some people . Part of me knows just how corrupt no matter what government could become . There is another part of me that knows I have to rely upon and trust my government and whatever comprimises they make until I feel I can no longer accept these comprimises .

Yeah... Things are things...

Good post, Munk.

(In my best Cartman voice) "H.I. Cantina kicks ass."

Take care, y'all.

Thanks Mad.

Just got back home from bringing back the dvd I rented. The Cantina has so many different people, so many different beliefs, yet everything fits together. This is a great, unique place. I wish the world was like the Cantina.

Cheers to everyone.

We create everything we see in every way we see it, through only our own efforts by the definitions only we choose to form our private images. If we ever fully realized that would we suddenly feel and realize the meaning of being alone? How important would the good or the bad be if it were not for our own reactions? A cantina fills something we may or may not even know is missing. Yet such an elixir and all a person needs to do is show up.

munk,

This forum IS AMERICA! I think that the cross section, the Cantina member, represents America very well. Unity through diversity. Even our foreign members have similar foundational ideas as our citizens.

Proud to be a part of this fine group, even if we appear to be a cloud of nuts and bolts more or less flying in the same direction. I like that direction --- those directions. And if I don't, I feel comfortable in speaking out.

Nitey night. Going back to sleep. Hmmmmmm

good. bad. i'm the one with the khukri ;)

what is good? what is bad?

there are no good countries. there are various levels of bad ones. the united states is not a shining star. we might be one of the best, but good? fail.

individuals are good. some groups might be good ... the larger the group, the more opportunity for them to fail being "good". the pope might be good, but the church he works for is not. there's too much cruft.

the constitution is good. the bill of rights is good. our system is good. the people that work it, and manipulate it for their own agendas over the people of their own country, and the world? not good.

good works are their own reward, and are obvious on the face of things.

most of us "here" are good'uns. most people? i'd like to believe they're good at heart, but not necessarily always on track due to false information.

c'est la vie

if there ever was a shining star of a county, America is it.
The only reason to think otherwise is ignorance.

Yes true.

The Brits had one of those shining ones before too.

Well, Munk, your vision is interesting. I think it is exactly what Thomas Jefferson, Washington, et al would see if they were to wake up in today's America.
They fought a war to get rid of a meddling tyrant, and in some ways, we have become what they hated.
It might be just the way it is, when you get so big and your interests are so vast you have to be heavy handed to protect them. At least history seems to agree with that.
What do you think?

no, britian was never what we are. they are closer to what we are NOw because we are what we are. So are many other countries whose people demanded "what the Americans have".

Some people don't understand what freedom and democracy mean. They dont mean that you are going to be happy all the time and living in a perfect world.
All they really do is provide you with real opportunities to change things.

You want to see what people in Japan and The UK look like walking down the street? Zombies. Dulled eyes, no smiles, shuffling feet.

True, the world is always changing and we always hope that those changes are better than the ones before.

They all call it like they see it.
