My poem, Song of the Bladesmith, won Jim Six's contest. He sent me his Tim Britton Mamba III and this is what I thought of it:

My new knife, the prize for Jim Six's contest, arrived today. It's a Tim
Britton Mamba III and the pictures didn't do it justice. It's BEAUTIFUL. The blade is
beautifully profiled and finished, and the green micarta is the perfect accent. The
grip is slim and well shaped, and the size is perfect for my hand. With the butt
anchored in the heel of my hand, my thumb and forefinger are in exactly the right
places for a fencing grip and a guard is not needed.

The sheath deserves to be addressed by itself--beautiful maroon leather and great
workmanship. It's a snug enough fit to hold the knife securely when the knife is
held upside-down and shaken vigorously, yet the knife draws effortlessly. I'm not
sure how it works, but it does. And the knife and sheath together are fine to look
at. I LOVE THIS KNIFE!

Woo HOO!

Oh yeah, and tomorrow is my birthday. Happy birthday to Don!

Good for you and congrats!
