I wonder what the outcome was?

I don't think even an Busse AK could help this guy! Supposed to be a survey team in Ft. McMurray - Alberta, Canada.

Anyone know what happened to this guy in the end? Who was taking the pictures?

How do I get large pics to post like every one else does? These thumbnails stink!

Not sure how you're getting thumbnails myself. I post images like this:

[ I M G ] h t t p : / / w w w.lord-fox.net / etc etc .jpg [ / I M G ]

(without the spaces to stop it being interpreted as an actual image ;) )

Turns out it is his pet polar bear, takes him every time he shoots pics in the wilderness. They play like this all the time :p

My MIL sent this in an email awhile back. I was wondering why the cameraman was still holding a camera instead of a rifle.

To me, trying to read body language as I would a dog's, that bear really looks to just be playing around, having a little fun and somewhat inquisitive

But, don't get me wrong on this.... I wouldn't want to mess around with a wild Polar Bear even if the Polar Bear was just playing around.

"Fun" for a polar bear (not unlike some dogs) could very likely include decapitating and delimbing the "caught" little creatures that "were" fun to chase.

Polar Bears are considered one of the most likely bears to attack and kill humans. If a Polar Bear attacks a human, the human typically dies.

"pet polar bear" and "play"..... hmmmmm..... possibly ...... as polar bears do have a playful side. But, I assume ALL "play" and "pet" activities include having a large vehicle or better for seperation.

In any event, .... dangerous game.

Man: "Oh NOES!" scramble scramble scramble "OH NOES!!!!" (brand new .500 S&W locked in truck)

Bear: "Nobody wants to play with me!"

Scary part is, that polar bear is still a cub. He's gonna get a heck of a lot bigger.

I think that particular nanuuk is just messing around with the guy. Sometimes they do that, even with dogs. Life can get a little lonely for them around the wastes. :D Sure wouldn't want to be running around the car with one of them on my tail though.

Every bear story reminds me of one of my first Silver Salmon trips to Alaska when I asked the guide why he had a .44 Mag on his hip rather than a .454.

Guide: “Well the .454s are a lot more money.”
Me: "Well if you ever need it you’ll be wishing you spent the money”

The next year he had this stainless 44-70.
