...if other people carried knives more, would we knife knuts feel as inclined to carry specifically what we do? Would our knives see anywhere near the level of use they do currently if EVERYONE carried one?

Obviously, we on BF are collectors and enthusiasts, so I doubt there would be much of a decline in the purchase of high-end cutlery, but I know a number of people carry some form of "beater" that they lend out. Would edge retention be as important if there were fewer people using the knife?

What do you think?

I'd still carry the same quality of knives. The only difference would possibly be open carry of a small fixed blade, since if knives were commonly used the sheeple wouldn't freak out about seeing one.

I take pride in what I carry, I would still carry the best I can justify / afford (even though no one knows I carry a knife)

The impact on my knife use would be minimal. I would still be doing 99.5% of what I do now, and edge retention would be just as important to me as it is now.

I wouldn't change a thing. I have nver done ANYTHING because some one else did.

i think it would be better. it would allow me to make more conversation with people about whatever knife i just bought.

No change for me. I don't lend knives. Most people don't realize I carry one.

I would probably feel less reluctant to carry bigger knives. Size has always been a consideration for me, not because I can't conceal a big blade, but because I don't like getting the "AHHHHHHH!" look from passers by when I pull out a big knife.
