I have no real reason why, but when it comes to customs I would happily own a custom fixed blade. There are a number of makers knives I drool over.

But when it comes to folders I don't have any interest in them. Maybe it's because so many of them look like they came from the gas station $10 bucket to me. Maybe it's because most of them don't hold their value (I don't buy for the resale, but I do sell things to fund the next purchase). Maybe it's because the tolerances on a good folder are hard to get just right, and I'd rather have a high quality mid tech that the tolerances have been dialed in.

I browse the maker's sale section every day but hardly ever look at the folders. Just wondering if others have a preference of one over the other.

I voted both but folders only include the realm of slip joints for me. My experience with custom “modern” or tactical style folders has been less than impressive and every single let down was a frame lock.
