Hi Mates,
is Bruno writing from Rome (sorry for my bad english), I've subscribed to this foum from two months but I've always read your post without write mine (my bad).

BTW now I'm in troubles so I'm here asking for your help or an idea.

I'm the proud owner of Spyderco Walker ZDP, but the clip bent and I broke it trying straight it with a plier. I've soon contacted spyderco SFO (they are really willing and courteous) but the clip is out of stock and no ETA is available at the moment.

I've contacted a craftsman (right term is: artist) who makes titanium clip, but he can't realize one without the old one (at least the base with holes) but my old clip has been destroyed trying to solder it.

My walker is only 5 days old... I don't want buy another one but, for me, is almost useless without clip (I know many of you generally removing the clip, but I love the clip)

Is there anybody who can tell me where to buy a clip or somebody who has removed his clip and can sell it?

The same clip is mounted on: CoPilot - Harpy Carbon - Delica Carbon.

I've just posted the same thread on others forum... please
Help me

Thank you

B

You might calling Spyderco again and ask if any clip that they make can be used. I would find it hard to believe that another clip would not work.

The CF Walker was a small limited production run. That's more then likely why spyderco only had a few/ if any spare parts for it.

Sure they used that clip 4 or 5 years ago on,
Harpy Carbon
Delica Carbon
Co Pilot Almite

But again, those were smaller limited runs.

The only way I can think of solving your problem if you can't find one, is to contact STR and have him make you one.

I see that the Deacon said he would loan STR the clip from his CF Harpy to be used as a model. (Again, What a class act!)

Go here and find the pictures for you knife.

Not sure which one's yours, maybe this one ?

Spyderco Michael Walker Carbon Fiber ~ C22CF

They have high resolution pix you can download. Between the pictures and your knife's hole pattern, the artist should be able to fix you up with something workable.

Hola EnduringEagle,
thanks for your reply, I agree with you, hard to believe... but it is true. If you watch te walker's clip you see is really different frome any others they do.

:)

I agree with you frontline, really a class act and try imagine my amazement when I've realized who is him!! (I've visited his website many times but due my proverbial amusement I've never linked it to the nick on spyderco forum)

BTW if the situation doesn't change, STR will be my savier thanks to Deacon.

Ciao

Hi shunsui, thanks for your reply.
Pictures are not enough I've proposed the project drawing with all the measures, too.
Anyway I will find a solution for the STR's clip; but I would find the original clip too,
so I hope (and hope...) for new from spyderco too.

He contacted me after customer service told him they were out of stock on the replacement and had no idea of when they would have any. I could easily make him a replacement clip out of titanium but I need the template to do that and I don't have it to copy the hole pattern. If one of you guys that has the same knife wants to drill three holes in a small piece of brass for the hole pattern of the clip and trace the clip either on that or aluminum or scrap metal or a flattened out Coke or Pepsi can I can make him a clip and ship it out once I have the general shape of the original and the hole pattern.

STR.

Just for in the future when you get a bent clip, take it off, use two pliers, hold with one and gently bend back in shape with the other, then re attach to your knife. I have bent many of my clips and have repaired all of them in this way. Just be careful not to loose the screws or strip them.
