Like the thread title says this is the appropretly named the Fanny's Clip due to the shear thickness of the blade . I started to call this knife the Fatty Lanny's when the build started and it transformed into the Fanny's Clip .K'roo is the maker and is one hell of a great guy . When I went to him with the idea of building a stout slip joint he jumped all over it , and the ideas started to fly . The blade is 1/4" thick N690 steel with Ti covers with copper liners and hammed copper inlays around the pivot . Let me know what you think .

I really like the copper, keep us posted as it ages. I wonder if the copper liner's patina will affect the walk and talk.

The walk and talk believe it or not is really nice , I can pinch open it with no problem . I don't know how he did it .

The spring thickness has little to do in terms of stiffness...it's the spring height that rules.

Willem has quickly established himself and makes a nice knife. Did a super job of yours right there. I've a lockback wharnie in ctek from him. Talented maker.

Enjoy that new knife! :)

Very impressive knife. "Lanny does 'roids" knife. What is the purpose of such thick stock for the blade ? It will not slice as easily as a thinner blade. What can it do better than a blade of 1/8" thickness which is commonly used for folding knives ?

There's really no purpose other then I just wanted something that was different and over the top . I've always been the kinda person that likes to have something different then everyone else .

Well, it definitely is a stand-out type of knife. Carry it if you ever go in a helicopter as if it goes down (gently) you could use Fanny to cut your way out. Also you could baton with it to split stuff. And i would think it is less likely to snap under a lateral force. i.e., there are some advantages to Fanny's phatness.

You asked for a stout knife and you've got one. Willem is a great guy and fine knife maker, I think he stood up the challenge. The copper is actually add some personality to this beast.
