The only reason I joined blade forums was because of my interest in H.I.
I live in a city full of rude people & am so used to dealing with that kind of atmosphere even in online activities. Since becoming a member here & all the reading I've done in the archives & the few threads I've started you all make me feel so welcome. It's amazing and beautiful. I have been on this forum everyday since I joined reading & reading. Everybody is so helpful to one another referring you to certain things to read & giving advice. I'm over here getting tears in my eyes as I type getting all sentimental. Why can't life in the real world out side of cyberspace be so full of warmth, love & people trying to help. Maybe I should re-locate, ;). Seriously tho' we all have our personal lives & struggles that we go through. Pain we deal with from losing somebody we may love to our beloved furry friend being sick. Yet no matter whats going on in our personal life we come here with positive attitudes that spread like wildfire. The members of this forum welcome you with open arms like family & Auntie Yangdu could give corporations lessons on customer service. The cantina is full of all types of information & beautiful stories.
Thank you all very much

Karda sent me this not too long ago & boy is it the truth
There was once a saying, and i cant remember who coined it....but it said
" i came because of the khuks......and stayed because of the kooks".

There are three traditional treasures in Buddhism. One of them is the Sangha, or the community of entities on the path.

You don't have to be a Buddhist to understand why it is considered a treasure.

Wow. Your experience here has been completely different from mine. I used to feel all warm and snuggy and welcome here too... for about a month or so... then the Troll Patrol came after for me - more than once, and more than a few times - and I haven't felt welcome or wanted here since. I stick around to see what sort of goodies Ms Yangdu offers and I occassionly snag something. That's it. I'm not one of the "cool kids". Whatever.

Sorry. I had to get that off my chest.

And yes I know full well I'm probably going to be flamed and trolled into the ground for this.

Oh well.

dirtypaulie,
Thank you!
I've been to the bronx a couple times long ago and my nephew lives there now.
It's not just the bronx, NYC is just like that sometimes. Plus, its not everyone, there are good prople there ,you just have to find them. Its just that way in about any large bustling city. Even here Upstate. That is why i live in the farm country.

Wolf,
I remember you saying this awhile ago. It perplexes me a bit that you feel this way because, honestly, in my time here as mod, i havent seen any troll patrols and i read darn near everything posted here. If i did you can rest assured that i'd put a stop to it. If you can find them i would very much like to see the threads or instances where you have been harrassed, so that i may take care of the problem. Please email me with them. You are very welcome here, as are your thoughts, same as everyone else.

You're most welcome to the Cantina:) New faces are always great. This is the House that Uncle Bill built. He shored up the foundation and along with a lot of the old-time greats (both with us and those having walked west) taught a lot of us how to be...well, US. I can say with the utmost certainty that I would not be the person I am today without the influence of Uncle Bill, Rusty, and all the other great family members here. Brick by brick, we strengthen what Bill started. May it last 1000 years.

The Cantina and the people who dwell within have deeply influenced me to try (and usually fail) to be a better person. But the important thing is that we try;)

Wolf, I have not heard of any issues. I'm sorry, I don't poke around here as much as I should as I have many things on my plate these days. I would suggest PMing an HI mod OR maybe going to Esav. He's very good at stepping back and taking in the big picture. I probably wouldn't stomp muddy boots around someone else's good will thread though. That's a bit of poor form and sour grapes. Lemme know if there is anything I can do to help.

Hiya dirtypaulie, yes, Karda's comment is true for me too.

Lucky for us Wolf_1989, generously shares his knowledge of Khuk's, especially his beloved Chitlangi's. :)

I agree with you b.c.molin despite the fact that he hasn't been feeling welcome. Sorry to hear of your bad experience Wolf_1989 Even tho' i'm still pretty new here you're more than welcome by me :)

One of the challenges for the mods and the forumites is fostering a welcoming environment. One where people can express their ideas and interact within the constraints of courtesy and respect for others. It is an ideal that is not always achieved.

Please feel free to PM me or any of the other mods if you think there is an issue we can help with.

Hey paulie, I understand and agree with your sentiments. Although all here obviously don't agree on all things, it is refreshing to find a place where one can broach about any subject or ask any question and get responses from the humorous and silly, to freely sharing of personal knowledge and experience in an atmosphere that doesn't belittle the question, subject or the person. As far as the other people we share this life with, Just keep living with warmth, love and trying to help people and forgive those that aren't. Hope you stick around for a while paulie.

(Wolf_1989-I haven't read the Forum around the time that you came in, but I sure am sorry that happened to you and that you feel unwelcomed. You've done a good job of hiding it though, as I've always appreciated your input and found you to be more that helpful and willing to share. My thanks to you and, please, don't you go into hiding.)

You're right. I shouldn't have posted that. I tend to internalize virtually everything until something makes the pot boil over and sets me off.

I apologize and I'll shut up now.

No problem wolf, we understand. Should you have a problem in the future, i hope you will contact one of us so we can rectify the problem. The last thing we want on this forum is bad feelings.

Paulie - thanks for your thread and heart felt words. I came here in October i think. I came here only because i had found some Himalayan Imports products on eBay - i had never heard of the company before and this is one of the top places that came up in a Web search.

I have been and still do look around at other places on the forum but i find that this is the area i feel most comfortable in. I really liked what i read in Uncle Bills sticky about the philosophy and code of conduct trying to be flowed here.

Please dont get me wrong i have nothing against the rest of the website; in fact; i find and enjoy a lot of the great information out there - but as for just general discussions and mood i feel more comfortable here. I am glad to here that others have a similar feeling.

best wishes and blessings to you Paulie and everyone else as well.

Eric

Dude, don't sweat it:p Seriously, look up some of the ridiculous things I have said in the archives. But if there is anything we can do, please let us know.

I agree with you Eric it just feels more comfortable here. I really enjoyed that story you posted about the dog with the happy eyes :)

P.s. I've read that philosophy more than once its just something that if it were applied by everybody in the world we would live in a better place
