I just joined with my latest Schrade Stockman. ;)
Needless to say, I'm pretty happy about finally getting one.
Can anybody tell me what years the *IXL Schrade's were made?
Sorry about the photos as they were kind of rushed. I couldn't wait to share.

Thanks Russel, I appreciate the link, and have now read both pages. ;)
According to the article, Shrade acquired I*XL in 1979, but didn't have them on the shelves until 1981?
Very interesting read. I understand that actual production only lasted two or three years? I wonder what happened.

IIRC that Schrade then relinquished their ownership to the Egginton group of Sheffield, who still own the Wostenholm name today.

Thanks again Russel. :)
Here's a close up of the blade inscription. ;)

If the last digit in your bolster Hallmark is a '1' then your I*XL Stockman was made in 1981...'0' is 1980 etc.....

It's really faint, but I think I make out 05439. Five digits, right? So the last digit is "9."

As Larry mentioned it will likely be a "0" or "1" indicating 1980 or 1981. You're looking at the serial number not the hallmark Bruce (see pic). Easy mistake to make...
