Do certain axe makers have distinguishable weight marks? I have an idea older axe that I bought as unmarked. After doing some minor cleanup I noticed a weight stamp just above the temper line dead center on the cheek. It was 3 3/4. The main 3 has sort of curly ends while the 3/4 is really small and standard.

While the 3 3/4 stamp is unusual as most manufacturers would use a "weight in lbs" with a tiny "weight in 1/4lbs" stamp, off the top of my head I don't know who that stamp belongs to.
