I'm not yet convinced that I would spend $50 on it. The handle doesn't look like anything special - probably a recent(ish) replacement.

probably a perfectly fine and serviceable axe, but similar or better can be had for less.

What is your intended use? that could also determine which axe is worth your time and money

Relatively newer Council Tool 4# Rail Splitter or Woodings Verona equivalent line?
It was used with the sticker intact for a while and the head cleaned, handle wiped, maybe even the head reset?
Probably not a bad tool.
Just going on outward appearances...

Thank you to everyone for the quick replies. Guy has decided to ignore my requests for more photos of the axe head. But if it is What y'all think it may be. Then it seems to be a 45$ Axe brand new. No need to pay more for less. THANKS!

Unless you are particularly sold on that axe. You can find better for less money. Depending on where you are located, I would utilize different resources. CL is great, but there are alternatives. You can find a perfectly good kelly for 5 to 10 dollars most of the time at garage sales or estate sales. And in an antique store they are usually 25 to 35 if priced right. Not saying you won't see them for 50 to 60. But that is a turn off for me. There are plenty of them out there. If I was going to spend 50 it would be on something embossed that I really had the bug for. If I just needed an axe I would find one for 5 to 10 dollars and make it new again. There are enough folks on here that would be excited to share their wealth of knowledge with someone restoring an old axe. Just my two cents. I wish you the best of luck no matter what you decide.

Awesome thoughts. I do kinda just need a decent axe. Just seeing if this happened to be anything special. Since it is not. I do be looking for cheaper alternatives that I can restore/use. Thank you.
