Here is a 1 1/4 lb head I bought recently. Can any of you 'Good old Boys' identify her origins?

The emblem appears to be a person standing on one foot while swinging an axe or similar tool over head.
He (or she) is facing left of your screen. I tried some yellow chalk to highlight markings, it hasn't worked too well apart from lower part of figure.

I am more of a 'larger axe' person but this one really interests me. I think she would be a good friend when camping, tramping or hunting.

regards...Frank

I had to throw that out real fast so I could have the first resonse!!! :D

Here's more info. Made by Wiebelhaus & Co in Meschede, Germany. Here's a link to the page of Yesteryearstools: http://www.yesteryearstools.com/Yesteryears%20Tools/Wiebelhaus%20%26%20Co..html

Here's a couple that I've had my paws on:

I still have one more 3.5lb Trumpeter. I need to get it hung!

Take care,

Matt

BTW, that will make a sweet hatchet! I recently put a Swedish head about 1.25-1.5lbs on a 20" handle and I love it!

No problem, my Kiwi Friend. I was going to offer to send the 3.5 pounder to you to match the hatchet....then I looked up a shipping quote  For the love......

I looked at UPS, is there a better option??? The shipping quote was $140.00 USD!!!!

I just checked rates to New Zealand on the USPS site, there's an option listed for $16.95 which is the Priority Mail® International Small Flat Rate Box, maximum weight 4 pounds, delivery in about a week to 10 days.
