I'd like my account closed

Easiest solution is to logout and don't return if that's your final decision. A mod can ban you I guess, but that seems like overkill. Other than that, there's really no way to "close" an account. All posts and such remain regardless.

Of course if the hooplah in a certain section is why you're going, the better option would just be to ignore it and enjoy the rest of the site IMO.
