The Gaucho.

I know the NRA series didn't go over really well but the Gaucho is an often overlooked diamond in the rough. I recently found a LNIB satin PE 154CM version of this knife.

Superbly ergonomic textured aluminum scales, Axis lock, slim, sleek, 3.5" blade and that SEXY grind. I'm not even a fan of tantos but this modified, drop point, recurved version is just SICK.

Benchmade should bring this knife back, branded as a Benchmade, in M390 steel. Anyone else interested?

It doesn't sell well enough to bring back. Get 'em cheap while you can and enjoy them for life, no worries about beating them. :)

IMO, the NRA logo is the primary reason they didn't sell. People didn't want to pay Benchmade price for a knife that wasnt marked Benchmade.

Between the NRA logo and a blade shape that few could understand, these models tanked and never sold well. The NRA designs had a few nice surprises but the audience was too small to be profitable.

To me, the blade shape is the best part. Reinforced tip of a tanto, but with some belly at the tip for slashing and the gentle recurve for slicing. I'd love to have a about a 6" fixed blade based on the same design.

I would absolutely love an updated version of the HK 14255 Tanto. M390 blade , CF handle , titanium liners. That would be sick.

But with this new BM pricing sitch , I can only imagine what it would cost. Haha.

Mini AFCK/TSEK...mini 805.. Axis lock, M390, M4,.... D2 would be fine w/ me. Stand offs,... regular ole' black G-10 scales....

It's interesting Glocker, when this blade shape came out on the Gaucho I'd never seen it used before, and now there have been many makers using it for the value the multi-grinds offer. Something for everyone!

I also just found one BNIB at a large gun show outside of Philly. I have been looking for one for about a month so you could imagine my joy when I ran into this one and they were only asking $100 for it.

A few more pics of this gorgeous knife. I LOVE this knife. I always liked the size of the 940 but never cared for the blade shape, green color or slickish scales. The Gaucho is the same size but with a bit more blade and without all the traits I don't like on the 940.
