So I just got 2 marbles light machetes to take care of some heavy overgrowth of weeds in my backyard ( a 14" scouting machete and an 18"er ) and the handle shape is ok for the smaller one but not ideal for the large one.
I'm going to be modifying the 18"er mostly and would first like to see some pictures of your modified machete handles, weather marbles, imi's, or tram's so I can get an idea of what I want to do.
When I do modify them, it may be a bit before I get some pictures up as I rely on natural lighting and it'll be raining here all week.

Just flush the scales to the tang, then sand to suit.

That's what I did with the 14" blade scouting machete and how I'll probably leave it , for me that handle shape really doesn't work for the 18" blade machete.
I probably wouldn't be wanting a major change in handle shape if I had actually gotten what I wanted, but they had the wrong picture and info in the catalog.
The model number is the same as listed, but they pictured the workhorse machete which has a slimmer more straight handle profile. The weird part is that I googled the model number and got pictures of both machetes, so maybe marbles is using the same model for both.
Anyways the handle shape is just too cramped to feel comfortable swinging around that extra 4" of blade length.

An old British Machete found at the flea market for 5 bucks needed a new handle so i made one from some Osage Orange.

An Ontario I snagged for $7 and used some home made black canvas micarta with brass and leather spacers. I also removed the phosphate coating and machine marks on the blade down to 500 grit, put on a very thin convex edge for light green growth, and forced a striped patina.
