Hey guys, I usually hang around the traditional forum but I decided I needed an axe or two recently. :D
I picked these two up at a huge flea market last week, and payed $5.00 for both of the them. My son said he wanted to restore the smaller one, so I let him. I think it turned out pretty nice (sorry, no before shots). He stripped the old paint off the handle/stained it, soaked the head in vinegar/took off the rust, and sharpened it with a file.

The only markings I could find on the smaller one is B23. Nothing was found on the larger one.

Both good looking axes. The big one's haft color matches Plumb's axes. If Plumb didn't stamp it then it might have been made by Plumb for some other reseller to label. Eye ribs are little metal bumps in the eye to give the haft a better grip. They might be visible on the top of the head.

Thanks for the info! The smaller one does not have eye ribs.
Any idea who manufactured it?
