  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

Can anyone assist with the ID of a knife maker? Used the stamp
<> RBR <> (diamonds on their sides), the blade constructed of a laminated steel similar to "San Mai III" with carbon in the center and a softer steel on the exterior. This maker was building knives as late as 1988 and I believe that he was in the East Coast area. Many thanks in advance.

Edited this first post of mine to... hopefully add... photos.

In spite of not getting an answer to the question, I just wanted to express appreciation for the number of times that this post/thread appears to have been read. Not knowing the ID of the maker in question has been difficult and I now believe (regardless that the question remains unanswered although it has been only a few days)that this has proven to be one of the most effective means of reaserch as well as getting a message out. Again my appreciation for the consideration of the question. :)

Welcome Stu! Give it a little more time! People may still be trying to help you out by searching their information to solve your puzzle.;)

Thanks Clyde and Terry. Unfortunately, Russel was not it. This maker was, I believ a small quantity maker.

I have added a few ID photos in a continued attempt to ID this piece.

Thank you in advance.

All the very best,

Stuart
