Hello everyone,

I picked this axe up from a garage sale for $20. I couldn't see any marks on it due to the amount of rust but I liked the shape so I picked it up.
After an electrolysis bath I managed to get "Kelly axe and tool co" to come through.
If anyone can shed some light on the history of this axe then I would appreciate it.

Regards,
Jesse.

Very interesting axe!
According to information in Allen Klenman's book, "Axe Maker of North America", starting in the 1930's, axes marked "Kelly Axe and Tool Company of Canada, Limited." were being made at the Welland Vale factory in St. Catharines.
American Fork and Hoe Corp., which also owned Kelly Axe Manufacturing Co., had purchased the plant in 1930.

100% a Kelly Tassie, As for timeframe i have no idea. Either way, its a very very good axe to have as tassies are very much sought after.
