I'm afraid to lose my flashlight and bit extender out of the side loops. I have a leather sheath and I carry my surge horizontal between my left front pocket ad belt buckle. Is there anything I can do to insure I don't lose them? I have clips on both te flashlight and extender. I have yet to have them fall out but it still makes me nervous. Being in and out of cars all day if I don't notice one of them fell out I mays well kiss them goodbye. I bought a supertool 300 but I just don't like it as much as my surge. Anyone lost anything out of the loops yet?

do you need the extender and flashlight at all times? i mean having to run to a desk or tool box for em is alot better than losing them right? I dont use the loops i tuck my extender inside the sheath with my wave, never lost it. I keep my bits in there too. takes a little stretching and its real snug for a while but it works

I carry one bit card with everything I would use in the day. Yes, the flashlight I need, the shop lights sometimes suck. The extender isn't always needed but comes in handy. My surge isn't a tool to replace hand tools but sometimes when I'm across the shop and someone needs a hand, it's all I have. Wish they had a better design!

me too. i dont own the flashlight so i can be of help for a different way of carrying it but the rare day where i rush out the door leathermanless i feel freaking naked and useless. always gotta go running for the right tool. is there a hole somewhere on the light that you can attach a small bungee type cord and secure it like some people do with their firesteels?

It's a streamlight microstream. I guess I could clip it in my pocket but if I rub up against a car and scratch it...

Buy an additional cell phone holder/flashlight/maxpedition type pouch that fits your items. Get one that has a full cover and velcro enclousure (I avoid snaps). Some co-workers make fun of me and my "batman" belt but I don't lose items and they call me at times to borrow stuff.

Or consider cargo pants (if allowed at work) for extra storage.

I normally carry a MT, flashlight, and small tool kit on my belt. My knife usually rides in my pocket.

Cargo pockets seem to be a good idea, but small stuff can fall out from them when you sit. That was my experience. You would be better off with a small belt pouch for the accessories. Mine is the Leatherman like the one that came with the bit kit. It keeps small accessories secure and takes little space.

Run 550 cord thru the pocket clip, tie it in a loop with an overhand knot, burn the loose end, and then tie another loop at the other end the same way and attach it to your belt/ belt loop. With the extender, erm... Clich's idea seems like a good one.
