ID this Al Mar Linerlock?

it is a Quicksilver. I don't recall if it was the first, but I do remember it was one of the first liner lock knives to hit the market. Pretty sweet little knives. A friend of mine had one till he trusted some folks in his place and know it's gone:(

Yep, it is a Qucksilver. There were 3 or 4 standard models, that change according to bail, clip side, etc.... I remember the discount price was in the mid $40 range.I remember seeing them in production till around 1995, or so. These still show up on Ebay frequently in the $60 to 70 dollar range.

There was also the jumbo Quicksilver, that was one of the first modern xxl folders.

Thank you both for the info. Is it particularly rare or valuable or collectible? I ran across one for sale and I am thinking of buying it just because I like the way it looks, but I don't want to overpay.

Any idea as to this knife's market value or typical price? (This one was used, but in good condition).

Thanks

And thank you, Bob (our posts crosed in cyberspace).

Any recollection on the size of the standard models vs. the bigger one? I think this one was about 4 1/2" closed.

Matt

And what is HTH in your sig?

Hi Matt,

The blade was 3 3/8, or so The jumbo QuckSilver was in the 6 inch range. It is a real nice folder(it would make a nice dress knife). The only thing I did not like was that the clip is intergal, and was not as strong as a Spyderco, etc....

HTH(Hope This Helps):D:).

IIRC, it's the 3rd version of the series. 1st was attatched with a small blade sopper, which didn't serve its purpose at all. 2nd was equipped with a little larger one, looking quite awkward. Locking liner of 1st and 2nd was brass, and no pocket clips. 3rd, current version still sells in the market at least here in Japan.
