fyi: i have somehting of a tragic addiction to ~3" fixed blades and this model looks like the top contender for my first Busse.

thanx in advance for your help.

Game warden is an awesome knife with superb ergonomics

It is a perfect around town EDC, especially the .140 versions, with lots of choices (satin, DCBB, coated, micarta, G10, skeletonized, thickness run from .140 to .28 I believe).

err, 'DCBB'?

in any case, i love having a 3" fixed as my EDC. currently i have the Fallkniven WM1-3G, a Boker Vox Rhino and a 3" semi custom forum knife from another forum.

any idea how much i should be paying for a decent condition (or New) satin finish, G10 or Micarta handled Game Warden?

dcbb = double cut bead blast. The first 'cut' is a rough media sand blast. This leaves a pourous rough surface. The second cut is a finer media that helps dent the sharp edges and close up the poors, creating something closer to a high grit satin in it's ability to resist rust, rather than a straight single pass bead blast.

Double Cut Bead Blasted. "Double cut" is the term Busse uses for their twice bead blasted method of blade finish. :)
ETA: LVC beat me to it with a better description! :)

Welcome to the Busse Forum. If you value your wallet, run away right now!

Still here?

You have been warned.

Be aware that the Game Warden comes in many variations. Thickness can range from 0.27" (stupid thick, IMHO) down to 0.14" (the only useful version, again, IMHO). Can be coated, satin, or bead blasted. Handle slabs in canvas micarta or G10. Outside of the few rare variants, recent market prices seem to be running around $250. If that seems high, consider that Busse offers a lifetime warranty on the knife. There is almost nothing, short of cutting it half on purpose, that Busse won't cover under warranty. Forever.
